Who can use the College of DuPage Library?
The C.O.D. Library supports C.O.D. faculty and students as well as community members from the 502 District. Visit our Library homepage.
Does it cost money to get a library card?
Library cards are free to current students and community members living the 502 district. Find out more information about library cards.
What types of things will I find in the C.O.D. Library?
The C.O.D. Library collection includes: materials for juveniles; rental videos; English as a Second Language resources; a comprehensive College and Career Information Center; music; a Natural Science Center; journals and magazines; consumer health information; and an academic collection that not only supports the College curriculum, but also may be of interest to community members. What kind of materials can I take home with me? Does the Library have computers that I can use, and can I print things while I am in the Library?
You can check out a variety of materials from the Library. There are computers with Internet access and productivity software available for you to use in the Library as well as a printing center where you can print from the computers or make photocopies of Library materials. Does the library have magazines or journals in Spanish?
The Library has several Spanish language magazines located in the Current Periodical section on the main floor of the Library.

- People en español
- La Raza
Are there online article databases (indexes) containing Spanish information?
The C.O.D. Library subscribes to several databases of interest to many Latinos:
- Clase Periodica
Access to citations from 2,600 scholarly journals edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages.
- Informe! (1994 - present)
Una colección de revistas hispánicas con textos completos. Abarca negocios, salud, tecnología, cultura, temas de actualidad y otras materias.
- Learning Express Library
Provides interactive online practice tests and tutorials for academic or licensing exams. Categories include: ESL (Spanish) Skills Improvement Courses, GED preparation, TOEFL Exam Preparation, and U.S. Citizenship Examination Preparation. (free registration required)
Remember, you must have a valid College of DuPage library card to access the electronic indexes and databases from off-campus!
