The following databases
are very useful for identifying grantmakers, developing prospect
lists and researching specific funders. These five databases are only available for use in the Library.

- Grants.Gov
Find and apply for federal government grants. Available on the Web @ http://www.grants.gov.
- Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
Search this database of all Federal programs available to state and local governments; profit and nonprofit organizations; specialized groups and individuals. Available on the Web @ http://www.cfda.gov.
- State Grants
Open the "State Grants" folder for links to State assistance grants. Available on the Web @ http://www.illinois.gov/living/insurance.cfm.
- Guidestar
Research the 990's of grantmakers and other nonprofit organizations. Available on the Web @ http://www.guidestar.org.
Business Databases
The following databases
are very useful for finding information about companies and
nonprofit management topics. All are available from your home
or work computer with a College
of DuPage Library card.

& Company ASAP
This database is a good place to begin your research with
articles on business topics, people, and industries as well
as information on more than 110,000 public and private companies.

- Hoover's
Online
This is a wonderful source of information on companies,
both public and private, with links to company web sites,
news articles, stock charts and annual reports.
- ReferenceUSA
This database is an excellent search tool for locating specific
types of businesses and nonprofit organizations in targeted
geographic locations.
