Gartner Research

With over 1,200 analysts and consultants, Gartner, Inc. provides analysis and insight into the trends, products, and vendors that drive Information Technology. Their expert research is provided to over 200,000 clients worldwide. The College is pleased to offer access to that same research to our students through the subscription purchased by Information Technology.

Access to COD's Gartner.com subscription is available through the MyCOD student portal. To access, log onto the system, click on the tab labeled "Campus" and locate the link labeled "Gartner Research" on the left hand side of the page. Clicking on this link will automatically connect you to the Gartner.com site using the College's account information. If you have any difficulties connecting to the Gartner site you may contact the student support helpdesk at 630-942-2999.

Technical Help for the myCOD Student Portal

The myCOD student portal contains extensive online help as well as tutorials on how to use the features within the site. Additional help and instructional videos are found by following the "Student Guide to myCOD" link within the Campus Bookmarks section of the Welcome page.

If students are not able to find solutions to their myCOD questions online they may contact the Student Help Desk:

  • In person from any lab aide in the Academic Computing Center (SRC 3600)
  • Via telephone at 630-942-2999
  • Via email at studenthelp@dupage.edu

The student help desk is available during the following hours:

Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Exceptions to the above hours occur when the computing lab is not open and during the summer.

The student help desk will only be able to answer questions regarding the use of myCOD, Blackboard, myAccess, and connecting to the COD wireless network. They will not be able to assist students with other questions about their personal computers or with homework assignments. Students will be directed to either a local computer repair shop for assistance with their personal computer or to their instructor for assistance with their homework.

Wireless Networks

The COD Public Wireless network is available in select locations on the Glen Ellyn campus as well as all of our regional centers. To connect you'll need to sign-on to the log in page that appears after you open your web browser. On main campus you'll sign in as guest. At the regional centers you'll need to contact the front desk for a login id and password. If you need assistance connecting your laptop to the wireless network, you may contact the COD student helpdesk via the methods mentioned above.
