Speech Recognition using Liaison
[ IT Home | Helpdesk | Search IT ]

The Liaison™ system is a self-contained, high volume automatic speech recognition telephone application that automates call routing, speech-activated dialing and provides access to names and departments.

Liaison uses automatic speech recognition to allow callers to reach any College of DuPage employee or department simply by saying their name. You will not need to dial an extension unless you choose to.

To work with Liaison, you need to first record your name by following the steps below:

  1. Verify that your name exists in the system
  2. Record your name using the preferred pronunciation

1. How to verify your name exists in the system:

It is important to make sure that your name and extension have been properly entered in the Speech Directory:

  2. Does the system immediately understand your name and transfer the call? Is the call transferred to the correct extension? If not, e-mail Kay Dreyer, dreyer@cdnet.cod.edu for corrections or call ext. 2900.
  3. After you have verified that your name exists in the system, disconnect from the system (hang up) and proceed to "How to record your name using the preferred pronunciation".
