| Installing
the Outlook Software
|
- Put the Outlook CD into your CD ROM drive
- Click on the Start button
- Select Run
- Type x:\outlook\dcom98.exe where "x" is your CD drive
letter
- Click on OK to begin the install program
- Select OK to reboot when prompted
- After you computer reboots, click on Start again
- Select Run again
- Type x:\outlook\setup.exe where "x" is your CD drive letter
- Select Typical Install when prompted
- Select OK to reboot if prompted and complete the
installation
- Delete the icon on the desktop to install Internet Explorer

| Setting
up a Profile

- Click on Start
- Select Settings
- Select Control Panel to display the Control Panel
- Select the Mail or Mail and Fax icon
- Select the Add button
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server
- Select the Manually configure information services radio
button
- Select Next
- Type your name at the Profile Name dialog box
- Select Next
- Type mse1.cod.edu at the Microsoft Exchange server:
dialog box
- Type your last name at the Mailbox dialog box
- Select OK
- Select Add
- Select Outlook Address Book
- Select OK
- Click on Next and then Finish
- Click on Close

| Setting
up the DNS Entry |
- Display the Control Panel
- Select Network
- Double click on TCP/IP dial-up adapter
- Select the DNS tab
- Select the Enable DNS radio button
- Type your user name at the Host Name dialog
- Type cod.edu at the Domain Name dialog
- Click OK to exit Network Properties (Insert the Windows
CD if prompted)

| Starting
Outlook for the First Time |
- Dial into the school
- Start Outlook to display the Login dialog
box
- Type your login name
- Type DUPAGE at the Domain Name dialog
- Type your mail password
- Click OK to enter your email account
- Select Tools
- Select Options
- Click on the Journal tab
- Uncheck all boxes
- Click OK to begin using Outlook
