FTAC - Proposal Instructions
[ IT Home | Helpdesk | Search IT ]

FTAC encourages you to take advantage of the support available to acquire and use technology based tools to enhance student learning. Our goal is to support full-time faculty in using technology to promote student success. These tools include office systems, hardware upgrades, software and computer peripherals. In order to better use and apply these tools, faculty development activities are supported. Some types of development activities include attending workshops, conferences or coursework.

To qualify for funding, the proposal should support and enhance instruction. This includes content specific instructional software, software for instructional management, and software for the development of instructional materials or other tools and activities that directly relate to the above items.

Proposal and Evaluation Procedures

  • Complete the Proposal Form.
  • Submit the completed form via the WEB. This will automatically send the submission to Information Technology for review. If you have any questions please contact Joe Miragliotta, Manager Emerging Technologies, Information Technology, Chair FTAC-- at ext. 2783
  • FTAC meets once a month during the academic year to evaluate technology proposals.
  • Proposal approvals or rejections will be done by FTAC. Decisions will be based upon the potential benefit for an individual and/or group development, potential for positive impact on students, relationship to college mission, and cost/benefit.
  • Any requests for hardware or software over $1,000 will be reviewed in November and May.
  • The FTAC members will officially notify the faculty member(s) and the Dean/Associate Dean of the outcome of the proposal.
  • The faculty member must submit a written evaluation of the new technology to Information Technology within 90 days of when the technology is received by the faculty member. An evaluation form will be provided. Failure to submit the evaluation form within the specified timeframe will exclude the faculty member from receiving future grants.
  • All technology will remain the property of the College of DuPage.
