To create a grade column in Blackboard's Grade Center:

  1. Enter Blackboard and open a course.
  2. In the Control Panel, go to the Grade Center and select Full Grade Center.
  3. Click Create Column.
  4. In Section 1 of the Create Grade Columnscreen:
    1. Enter a Column Name
    2. Enter a Description (optional)
    3. Select a Primary Display
    4. Select a Secondary Display (optional)
    5. Choose a Category
    6. Enter Points Possible
  5. In Section 2, you may enter a Due Date.
  6. In Section 3, set the column Options.
  7. Click Submit.

You have created a column.

To manually enter scores:

To enter scores, click on a cell in a column. Type a score or edit an existing grade and press Enter.

To delete a manually created grade column:

  1. In the Grade Center, find the column you want to delete.
  2. Click the chevron next to the column name.
  3. Select Delete Column from the menu.
  4. Click OK to remove the column.
