As the most widely-adopted course management system among post-secondary institutions in the United States, Blackboard provides a best of breed solution for the many assessment, discussion, and course management tools that are now available to all faculty and staff at the College of DuPage. Be sure to check this site regularly for important updates and announcements.

History

To better meet the College's changing technology needs, now and in the future, the Blackboard Learning System was purchased in Fall 2006. This decision was based upon the recommendation of the Course Management System Continuous Improvement Team. A Blackboard Transition Team was immediately formed to review, and make, recommendations concerning the successful transition of online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses into Blackboard. This team is chaired by Annette Haggray, Dean, Academic Alternative/Instructional Support, and is meeting regularly with sixteen members representing all areas of the College.

Currently

As of the beginning of Fall 2007 term, Blackboard is fully integrated and is used to deliver over 170 sections of fully online courses, as well as many web-enhanced and hybrid courses. Moving forward, the Blackboard Transition Team will continue to provide a outlet for Blackboard discussion as well as providing direction for future updates. Periodically, the Blackboard system will release product updates that will introduce new features and enhancements to existing features.
