Technical support is provided for use of the Anlon Learning Content Management
System. Please note that you are responsible for your computer hardware,
software, and Internet connection.
Are you having trouble logging into the Anlon login
screen? Please check the following:
- Are you using the correct URL? Go to http://coursev4.cod.edu.
- Are you using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
on a Windows based computer to access Anlon? Other browsers or platforms
are not supported by the Anlon product. If MSN or AOL is your Internet
service provider (ISP), you will need to obtain a full-featured version
of Internet Explorer browser to use with Anlon. Connect as usual, then
open Internet Explorer and login to Anlon.
- Are you using your correct social security number
(SSN)? You must enter a nine digit number. Do NOT use hyphens or
dashes.
- Are you using the correct personal identification
number (PIN)? This is a four digit number. Your PIN is printed on
your registration appointment letter. New students who have received
an acceptance letter, must select a PIN and returning students may change
their PIN through touch-tone registration at (630) 942-3555 - press
3, Registration Online,
or by contacting the Registration office at (630) 942-2377 - press 2.
If you change your PIN, your new PIN will not take effect immediately
within the Anlon system. PIN information is updated on the Anlon system
M - F at 6:00 a.m. (No updates take place over the weekend.) Use your
old PIN until the information has been updated.
- Is this the first online course
you are taking at the College of DuPage? If yes, then you will not
be able to access the Anlon system until your Anlon account has been
established. New Anlon accounts are created typically ten days before
the start of the term.
- Are your browser options set correctly for
Anlon?
There are certain browser options that must be set properly in order
for the Anlon product to work. Other options may be set to streamline
the use of the product. If you are not sure that your browser options
are set correctly, then you may wish to try returning the settings to
their default values. NOTE: Making changes to these options may
affect your browser's behavior, security, and your privacy.
These options can be found under "Internet Options..." located
in the Tool menu on the Internet Explorer menu bar. Refer to the Security,
Privacy, and Advanced folder tabs. Also, it may be necessary to periodically
clear your browser cache. If this operation is not performed regularly
on your PC, then you may see problems with the Anlon product. To clear
the browser cache, go to "Internet Options..." located in
the Tool menu on the Internet Explorer menu bar. The General tab should
be displayed. Select the "Delete Files" button to clear the
browser cache. This operation may take a few minutes. Complete the operation
by selecting the OK button.
- Are you using a personal firewall utility
or a popup window killer utility (or both)?
If any of these utilities are active on your PC, you may see a blank
screen when you attempt to logon or you may not be able to proceed past
the screen with the message "Page loading. Please wait. If page
does not appear in 30 seconds login again." You will need to adjust
your utility software options to allow the Anlon product to create popup
windows. If you are not sure on how to do this, refer to the software
instructions manual, help pages, or contact the product manufacturer
for instructions.
- Do you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed
on your computer? If you have SP2 and have the pop-up blocker turned
on, the blocker may be preventing you from seeing Anlon's necessary
pop-up window. To allow Anlon's window to display, identify Anlon as
an allowable site. To do this, open Internet Explorer. On the "Tools"
menu at the top of the browser screen, point to "Pop-up Blocker"
and select "Pop-up Blocker Settings." In the "Address
of Web site to allow" box, type http://coursev4.cod.edu/
for the Anlon site. Click "Add" and then click the "Close"
button.
- Are you currently enrolled in a COD Online
or web-enhanced course? If you did not pay for your course by the
tuition deadline, or if you have been inactive in the
course for an extended period of time, you may have been dropped. Contact
Registration (630) 942-2377 or use the online
Registration system to check your schedule.
If you have successfully logged in, you should see
your course in your Student Home screen. If you don't, please check the
following:
- Are your personal preferences set to
"View Current Courses Only"? If so, you may be unable
to see courses that you need to access. To change your preferences,
login to Anlon and select "Preferences" from your student
home. Change the "Courses to View" preference to display "All
courses."
If you can see your course, but you cannot see a syllabus and/or materials,
your instructor may not be finished preparing the course for your use.
Please remember that the course does not begin until the first day
of the term! If the term has already started and you still
do not see course materials, contact your instructor.
Please note that you are responsible for your computer
hardware, software, and Internet connection. If you are still having
trouble with Anlon and you have checked the issues above, please verify
your computer specifications and contact Technical Support by e-mail or
telephone.
You will be asked the following information:
- Your name
- Course in which you are enrolled
- Operating system
- Browser and version
- Problem that you are experiencing — be specific. (What do you
see on the screen? What happened? Did you receive an error screen? What
did it say?)
