International
Student Advising
The
International Student Office is designed to assist F-1 international
students who have already been admitted to College of DuPage (i.e.,
who have already received an I-20 document for international admission)
with maintaining their non-immigrant student status. Our office
hours and contact information are as follows: 8:30 a.m. to
5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Evening appointments are also available
upon request. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Contact us by calling
(630) 942-3328, or by e-mail at intlstdt@cod.edu.
Students who have not yet received an I-20 document for international
admission to College of DuPage should contact Gabi Carr,
International Admissions Specialist, at (630) 942-2979, or by e-mail
at intladm@cod.edu.
The International Student Office serves 150 currently enrolled F-1 international
students from more than 50 countries. We have two full-time staff members
dedicated to serving these students:
Tracey Klickman, Coordinator - International Student
Services/PDSO
Kathy Smid, Administrative Assistant/DSO
Services
provided by the International Student Office include:
• Logistical assistance
for new students
• F-1 and M-1 immigration advising
• Basic academic advising
services
• Cross-cultural/personal
advising
Most services require an individual appointment, which
can be scheduled by calling our reception desk at (630) 942-3328.
For quick questions
or emergency situations that may arise, you may also see the International
Student Adviser during Open Advising. Open Advising is scheduled from
Monday through Thursday for two hours each day at varying times. Individual
appointments are not required during Open Advising. During Open Advising,
the International Student Adviser will meet with students on a walk-in
basis. Open Advising is designed to assist students with simple requests
for information. Meetings with the adviser will be limited to approximately
10 minutes. If the adviser determines that the student requires more
time, they may request that the student schedule an individual appointment
for a future date and time. Please call (630) 942-3328 or check the
current Open
Advising schedule.
We look forward to meeting you and hope that you will use the services
provided by the International Student Office often during your stay
in the United States. Best wishes for success in your studies and a
wonderful experience as an international student at College of DuPage!
