Berg Instructional Center (BIC)

Educational Space: 466,548 sq ft.

Completed: 2012
Features: Laboratories for Anthropology, Math, Engineering, Meteorology, Geology and Hydroscience; general education classrooms and faculty offices; the Testing Center; offices for Cashier’s, Honors Program, Courier Newspaper, and Field and Experiential/Study Abroad.

Campus Maintenance Center (CMC)

Support Space: 36,000 sq ft.
Cost: $9.5 million
LEED Certified—Gold
Completed: 2013
Features: Housing for 28 vehicles, vehicle maintenance, workshops, signage shop and custodial space; a clerestory to help reduce electricity usage.

Culinary & Hospitality Center (CHC)

Educational Space: 60,000 sq ft.
Cost: $29.5 million
Completed: 2011
Features: Skills kitchens, restaurant kitchens, a chocolate room, an amphitheatre for lectures/demonstrations; Waterleaf, a professionally-run fine-dining restaurant; Wheat Café, a student-run casual dining restaurant; Culinary Market selling foods prepared by Culinary students; the Inn at Water’s Edge, a six-room boutique hotel; Silverleaf, a multipurpose meeting room.

Early Childhood Center (ECC)

Educational Space: 11,300 sq ft.
Cost: $5 million
Completed: 2007
Features: The Louise M. Beem Early Childhood Center, serving more than 100 children in part-time and full-time preschool, toddler care, and kindergarten.

Health and Science Center (HSC)

Educational Space: 190,500 sq ft.
Cost: $58 million
LEED Certified—Gold
Completed: 2009
Features: A simulated operating room; full dental lab; medical imaging laboratories, including a CT scanner; a “SIM Hospital” that contains four private rooms, a nurse’s station, a simulation debriefing room and high-fidelity patient manikins; and up-to-date labs for such programs as Chemistry, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology.

Robert J. Miller Homeland Security Education Center (HEC)

Educational Space: 60,000 sq ft.
Cost: $24.5 million
LEED Certified
Completed: 2011
Features: A full-scale indoor street scene for force-on-force exercises, forensics and cybercrimes labs, a command center, a smoke room with moveable walls for EMS and fire rescue simulations, a fully functional mock courtroom, a full-size ambulance, and an outdoor scaling and rappelling tower.


McAninch Arts Center (MAC)

Educational/Arts Space: 165,390 sq ft.
Cost: $35 million
Completed: 2013
Features: An updated front entrance with a new canopy; relocation of the Ticket Office for greater visibility; a new concession and bar; addition of Cleve Carney Art Gallery to showcase contemporary artists; the Belushi Performance Hall includes updated seating and wall treatments, a new HVAC system and improved acoustics; and the Lakeside Pavilion, a new outdoor amphitheater with tiered lawn seating for 1,000.

Physical Education Center (PEC)

Educational Space: 133,942 sq ft.
Cost: $24 million
Completed: 2013
Features: Chaparral Fitness, which includes a stretching area, spinning room, cardiovascular/fitness room and areas for group fitness; reconfigured lap pool into a competitive swimming space; updated running track in the arena; and Varsity Athletic addition with new men’s and women’s locker rooms, a strength lab, and training room for College athletes.


Seaton Computing Center (SCC)

Educational Space: 18,500 sq ft.
Cost: $9 million
LEED Certified—Silver
Completed: 2013
Features: High-tech classrooms, a visual simulation lab, networking hardware labs, a server/internetworking lab, software/web development labs and end-user labs.


Student Resource Center/Library (SRC)

Educational Space: 216,923 sq ft.
Cost: $40 million
Completed: 2013
Features: Classrooms for Continuing Education programs; the Library with more than 21,000 feet of renovated space; WDCB Radio; the Cafeteria; Learning Commons, a one-stop academic support center; and the Jack H. Turner Conference Center.


Student Services Center (SSC)

Educational Space: 97,595 sq ft.
Cost: included in the BIC renovation costs
Completed: 2011
Features: Campus Central, with representatives who can answer all your questions; offices for all student services; Student Life, home to more than 60 clubs and student organizations; and the atrium, where students enjoy space to study and relax.


Technical Education Center (TEC)

Educational Space: 138,000 sq ft.
Cost: $49 million
LEED Certified—Silver
Completed: 2009
Features: 31 classrooms and 16 state-of-the-art laboratories, a greenhouse, space for raw materials and vehicular storage, and two windmills and four solar panels for academic use.
