Technician Training
According to
the U.S. Department of Labor, jobs for pharmacy technicians are expected
to increase over the next six years by as much as 35 percent,
as the drug industry continues to create and produce specialized pharmaceuticals
to treat, cure and alleviate symptoms of illness and disease.
As part of the College of DuPage Health Sciences Discipline program, C.O.D. has
formed a unique partnership with MRxI Corporation in Lombard, an instructional
organization created by a team of pharmacists dedicated to the advancement of
both pharmaceutical and allied health positions. Students who register at C.O.D.
for Health Science 1115, Pharmacy Technician, complete the 75-hour Pharmacy
Technician Training program at MRxI and earn five credit hours in the Health
Science program at College of DuPage. The Pharmacy Technician program is an
excellent option for students interested in starting a new career, as well as
for current health care workers who would like to expand their knowledge of
pharmacology.
