Message from Tom Cameron, Dean of the Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences
Division
The
Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences Division represents more than
29 special discipline and professional areas designed to provide transfer
and completion programs in a range of areas that correspond to skills
and academic interests relating to People. We might be called the "People Division" because
of our special emphasis on courses corresponding to people studies, ranging
from Anthropology to Therapeutic Massage. We hope you will take time
to see the full range of courses and study areas represented by this
Divisional web site.
Here we present you with current information about our faculty, their courses
and syllabi, along with timely news about the activities of the Division. Represented
are more than 80 full-time faculty and 245 part-time faculty. We have many resources
supporting our programs, including extensive specialized equipment, laboratories,
and the latest in multimedia delivery systems.
You will also find information on three associate degree programs and more
than 18 certificate programs offered by Division faculty. We have a diverse faculty
representing a wide range of disciplines and programs. Our educational opportunities
span the globe through field studies programs, as well as the many international
students who attend classes in the Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences
Division.
We hope this web site offers useful and comprehensive information that will
help
you
make decisions about your college goals. Other materials such as the college
Class Schedule and Catalog also provide valuable additional information.
This site is designed to complement and not replace the advising you will receive
from faculty members or the
information that is shared in classes. We look forward to meeting your needs
and helping you reach your career and transfer education goals. We hope you will
enjoy the strength of our programs, our strong teaching faculty and the richness
of our curriculum as you discover everything the People Division has to offer.
Sincerely,
Tom Cameron
