Initiatives and Goals
Support continued expansion of the College of DuPage Nursing program.
• Provide faculty for January 2007 expansion cohort.
• Complete standardized curriculum for all nursing classes.
• Determine possibility of additional nursing cohorts in January
2008.
• Evaluate 2006 expansion cohort based upon previously identified
measures (by tracking former students, quality of education and workplace
retention in DuPage area).
• Support LPN program.
• Support accelerated BSN partnership between College of DuPage
and Benedictine University; [Pending] Elmhurst College (RN-to-MSN
program targeting educators and clinical instructors); and Roosevelt
University (BSN completion program).
Identify ways to support expansion
of other DAHLC academic members' Nursing programs
(Northern Illinois University, Aurora
University, Elmhurst College and Benedictine University).
Develop MSN orientation and mentoring
program through Northern Illinois University for the new MSN and Allied
Health faculty
(Target – Fall
2007)
Implement Clinical Coordination pilot project program for DuPage/Kane counties.
Assess non-nursing workforce shortages and develop a plan to address additional needs (rehab therapy programs) in the DuPage area.
