The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation: Buffalo Theatre Ensemble. To expand Buffalo Theatre Ensemble's current subscriber base and implement strategies to attract new audiences that embrace the company's vision. Funds will be dedicated to advertising monies and build the frequency of attendance among existing patrons over a two-year period. Illinois Department of Transportation: Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” Mobilization. Funds will support increased safety belt enforcement patrols during the 2010 Memorial Day period. Project Directors: Mark Fazzini and Ray Snisko (Funded: $3,200)
Arts Midwest: Diavolo. McAninch Arts Center will present Diavolo, an innovative dance company, on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. Diavolo will perform their newest piece, Fearful Symmetries, on the MAC Mainstage Theater. Partnering with Mooseheart Child City and School, the MAC will reach out to underserved audiences with a movement workshop for Mooseheart children and complimentary tickets for Mooseheart families to attend Diavolo’s public performance. Illinois Board of Higher Education: College of DuPage Cooperative Work Study Program. To support participation in the 2010 Illinois Cooperative Work Study Program. As one of 51 Illinois public and nonpublic colleges and universities selected for funding, COD will partner with local industry to offer paid internships for 23 students in the Hotel and Lodging Management and Horticulture programs, representing workforce areas with regional long-term job growth potential. Nine employers ranging from floral boutiques to premier hotel properties will collaborate with the COD Cooperative Education and Internship Program and COD faculty to provide academically enriching pre-professional work experiences that will also include community service opportunities. Employers will commit to paying 50% of student wages and will be reimbursed for the remainder through the grant. Project Director: Jean Spahr (Funded: $34,650)
Corporation for Public Broadcasting: WDCB: Fiscal Stabilization Grant. General operating support available to public television and radio stations to maintain local programming, services, and jobs threatened by declines in non-federal revenue sources during the current economic decline. YWCA: Early Childhood Education and Care Kindergarten Program: Louise M. Beem Demonstration Center Equipment. To purchase educational materials and equipment for the toddler, preschool and school age (kindergarten) children enrolled in the Center. Project Director: Marsha Pobst (Funded: $4,633)
Illinois Community College Board: Perkins/DuPage Area Occupational System (DAOES) Partnership. College of DuPage will continue the partnership with DAOES which also includes the Regional Office of Education; DuPage area high school districts; area business and industry; the local Workforce Board; and other post-secondary institutions. Pathway sequences in Career and Technical Education (CTE) program areas will be created enabling students and educators to better understand career clusters, and a variety of related activities will be implemented. COD will coordinate the DuPage Area CTE Educator Roundtable and the DuPage Area Guidance Counselor Network, with opportunities for CTE educators and counselors representing 25 area high schools to receive updated information about legislation and new initiatives. Illinois Community College Board: Career and Technical Education Regional Collaboration Grant. Funding will continue the DuPage/Joliet Math and CTE Collaboration designed to enhance and improve Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at secondary and postsecondary levels by integrating math into the CTE curriculum. Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board: The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA). To support six law enforcement continuing education training programs conducted at COD and other sites between July and December 2009. A total of 108 law enforcement officers from 48 Illinois agencies and jurisdictions completed Basic Cyber Terrorism and Advanced Cyber Terrorism. Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation: Lighting Upgrade Program. To install a LED (light emitting diode) system in the Berg Instructional Center and College Center. Project Directors: John Wandolowski and Scott Fotre (Funded: $110,000)
Illinois Community College Board: FY10 Career and Technical Innovation Grant. Activities to impact regional CTE Programs of Study, with collaborations to promote student success from high school to college through to the workplace. Project Director: Ann Marie Rosen (Funded: $64,015)
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity: SBDC Federal Disaster Assistance. To provide disaster assistance and preparedness education, training and outreach to 100 DuPage County small business clients. Project Directors: David Gay and Kristine Fay (Funded: $52,500)
Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support: New Look - Direct Connect: A Pathways Approach for Transitioning Students into the Community College. To provide academic and support services to facilitate college entry and success for 30 high school seniors from Southeast Alternative School in Naperville and Downers Grove high schools. Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support: New Look - Nontraditional Career Mentoring Group. To match 65 TCD high school students with COD students enrolled in nontraditional programs, industry professionals and career guidance counselors. Illinois Campus Compact: McCormick Raise Your Voice. To support campus and community outreach activities promoting civic engagement. Project Directors: Steve Gustis and Carlos Lopez (Funded: $1,000)
Illinois Campus Compact: Martin Luther King Day Grant Challenge. To support fair housing photo exhibit and presentation in January 2010, with service learning action projects through spring 2010. Project Directors: Steve Gustis and Andrea Wirgau (Funded: $300)
United States Department of Justice: Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant. To support the purchase of bulletproof vests for the COD Police Department. Project Directors: Mark Fazzini and Joseph Mullin (Funded: $6,989)

Illinois Community College Board: Adult Education and Family Literacy. The Adult Education and ESL Program at College of DuPage is the largest literacy provider in District 502, expected to serve 7,350 students at 31 locations this year. There are seven distinct instructional areas: Adult ESL; ESL Family Literacy: Adult Basic Education/Reading; English; Math; GED Preparation in English and Spanish; Citizenship; and ESL for Citizenship. The index of need for literacy services in District 502 is among the highest in Illinois. Project Director: Maria Martinez (Funded: $1,366,549)
Illinois Secretary of State: People Educating People (PEP). To support PEP, the adult volunteer literacy program that uses community volunteers to individualize instruction and provide tutoring in reading, math and ESL literacy. Project Directors: Joan Morris and Maria Martinez (Funded: $39,000)
Illinois Secretary of State (SOS): Leer es Poder (Reading is Power). The well-established program is based on national models of excellence and promotes developmental growth, self-esteem and family cohesiveness, while reinforcing literacy skills. Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board: The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA). A total of 481 law enforcement officers from 198 Illinois agencies and jurisdictions completed Basic Cyber Terrorism, Advanced Cyber Terrorism, and Disaster Preparedness for First Responders.
