Scholarships are another valuable resource for financial
aid. Keep in mind that each scholarship usually has its own set of criteria
for eligibility. The criteria for application may include a request for
information regarding academic success, credit hours completed or public/community
service, and many scholarships require students to file the FAFSA to determine
financial need.
Students should be prepared to write one or two paragraphs explaining
how they qualify for a particular scholarship. They may also be required
to submit documents in addition to the scholarship application.
