Important Dates/Announcements

Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008
Students may begin filling out the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA.
Please be wary of services that charge a fee for completing the FAFSA.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008
ALL completed financial aid paperwork must be submitted to our office to be considered for the Student-to-Student Grant and/or Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant for 2008-2009. Paperwork received after this date will continue to be processed until funds are exhausted..  

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 to Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Bookstore dates. Eligible students may charge books and supplies against their Federal Pell Grant and/or scholarships for the Summer Semester 2008. PLEASE NOTE: If you are currently on Financial Aid Warning, you will not be able to use your Federal Pell Grant to purchase your books until after Spring 2008 grades have been posted and your financial aid eligibility can be determined.

The earliest loan refunds will be mailed to renewal Stafford Loan borrowers who registered for at least 6 semester hours prior to Friday, May 16th for the Summer Semester 2008. PLEASE NOTE: If you are currently on Financial Aid Warning, your loan funds will not be disbursed until after Spring 2008 grades have been posted and your financial aid eligibility can be determined.  Students who need to pick up their disbursement check(s) can pick their check(s) up at the Cashiers Office between 10am and 2pm. (Date may be subject to change)

Tuesday, May 27, 2008
All completed financial aid paperwork must be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Aid for a student to be eligible to request a tuition payment extension for the Summer Semester 2007. Payment will be extended until Friday, July 11th.  Students who submit paperwork after May 27th  will be responsible for payment of their classes and books. Once eligibility is determined, students may be reimbursed accordingly.

SOP APEAL DEADLINE. Students who wish to appeal their financial aid discontinuance for the Summer Semester 2008 must submit all completed paperwork to our office for the Financial Aid Committee to review. Students will receive a letter regarding the decision of the committee about 2 to 4 weeks after the deadline. THE COMMITTEE'S DECISION IS FINAL.

The “census date” for financial aid purposes.  Your Pell disbursement is normally based upon your enrollment as of the “census date.”  If your file is processed after the census date, your Pell disbursement could be determined by your enrollment hours at that time.  If you initial registration occurs after the “census date,” your Pell disbursement will be based upon those enrollment hours.  Subsequent enrollment hours after the “census date” will not increase your Pell award.
