Physician Office Coding and Billing Certificate

The Physician Office Coding and Billing program offers a certificate to help prepare students to code and bill for employment in physician offices, billing companies and insurance offices.

Certification in Physician Office Coding and Billing can be obtained with a minimum of two years of full-time coding and billing experience. The credential CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist for Physicians) is obtained after passing the certification exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association, located in Chicago. Certification is not the same as earning your certificate. The C.O.D. certificate program is designed to help prepare students to code and bill for employment. After two years of full-time work experience, students are eligible to sit for the CCS-P certification exam.

Classes meet once per week at a C.O.D. Regional Center, from 6 to 10 p.m.
This four-course program can be completed in as little as six months.
