Admissions Check List

Contact a counselor at (630) 942-FAST regarding miscellaneous questions or to begin the application process.

1. Meet with a counselor for a pre-application consultation and to begin the application process.
Please call (630) 942-FAST to schedule an appointment with a counselor. The counselor must sign off on your application to verify the meeting. Do not submit your application until this step is complete. Note: This step is not the same as applying to C.O.D.

2. Apply to C.O.D.*
In addition to the above, if you have not previously enrolled in a credit course at College of DuPage, you must submit an Application for Admission to the College of DuPage with a $20 recording fee. Send the C.O.D. application to: College of DuPage, Office of Admissions, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599. Or you can apply online.

3. Submit the Adult Fast Track Program Application. (PDF)
The Adult Fast Track program application is separate from the College of DuPage application. The Adult Fast Track application should be sent to:

Adult Fast Track Program Application
College of DuPage Westmont Center,
650 Pasquinelli Drive,
Westmont, IL 60559

Note: Your counselor must sign off on your application to verify your pre-application consultation.

4. Request Transcript Evaluation.
a. If you have previously attended any high schools, colleges/universities other than C.O.D., or any other alternative learning institution, contact your former school(s) and request that one official copy of your transcript be forwarded to you and one official copy be forwarded to:

College of DuPage
425 Fawell Blvd.,
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599
ATTEN: Records Office

b.
Two weeks after requesting your transcripts, contact the College of DuPage Records office at (630) 942-3833 to verify that all transcripts have been received. Once all your transcripts have been received, please fill out the
College of DuPage Incoming Transcript Evaluation Form – Fast Track Program and forward it to the address given on the bottom of that form. The Records office then produces an evaluation of your incoming transcripts to determine what transfer credit has been accepted. This evaluation is then forwarded to the Fast Track office at the Westmont Center.

c.
Note: The transcript evaluation process can be quite lengthy; 4 to 6 weeks is not unusual.

5. Take Reading, Writing and Math Placement Tests.*
a. Make sure your application for admission to C.O.D. has been accepted before taking your test(s).

b.
Complete the placement tests at one of our several Centers for Independent Learning (CILs). The reading and writing assessments take one to one and one-half hours to complete. The math assessment takes approximately one hour. Please call the CIL for an appointment.

c.
Your results are provided as soon as the tests are completed. These results are used to help determine your readiness for college-level coursework. As soon as you have completed the necessary tests, you must immediately forward a copy of the scores to the AFT office. Your scores must be recorded in order to complete the application process. Mail a copy of the results to:

Adult Fast Track Test Scores
College of DuPage Westmont Center
650 Pasquinelli Drive
Westmont, IL 60559
FAX: (630) 942-4837

d. Depending on your scores, you may be required to take preparatory courses in English or reading before admission to the Adult Fast Track program. Your math score will not impact your admission status; rather, this test serves as an advising tool to determine which developmental math courses you should complete, if any.

6. Application Determination/Notification.
a. Students are notified of their application determination approximately two to three weeks following the completion of all the above steps. All notifications are sent via U.S. mail.
b. Following receipt of your determination (acceptance or deficiencies), please call an AFT adviser at (630) 942-FAST if you have any questions regarding your notification or the accompanying degree plan/schedule.

*Students who have previously enrolled in college-level courses at C.O.D. may already have completed some of these steps.
