South Parking Lot Closure
The parking lot south of College Drive will be closed beginning Thursday, Sept. 24, to accommodate the construction of the new soccer fields. Please do not park in this lot during the construction.

Dental Hygiene Renovation
The renovation of the Dental Hygiene space in the Arts Center into the new home for Graphic Arts Technology begins on Monday July 27. Demolition will occur from July 27 to Aug. 14. This will involve noise and vibration in the adjacent spaces, including the rooms above. A temporary partition will be erected in the entrance corridor, which will allow access through the construction zone throughout the construction project. Construction completion is anticipated by the end of December 2009.

BIC Third Floor Closure
The west half of the third floor of the Berg Instructional Center will be closed during the day from Aug. 3 to Oct. 31. This area will only be open from 4 to 11 p.m. between those dates. (See attached floor plan.)

Football Field and Track Closures
The football field and track will close for renovations starting Wednesday, May 27.

The field and track areas will remain closed throughout construction, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009. Signage will be posted to show access to the baseball and softball fields.

Parking Tips for Fall Semester
College of DuPage Public Safety offers several tips for parking on campus during the fall semester:

  • Arrive early, especially at the start of the term. The parking lots are congested during the first weeks of classes -- think the shopping mall just before Christmas.

  • Student parking on campus is free and no permits are needed. However, some areas are restricted (handicapped, visitor, service), so please observe the posted signs.

  • Parking lots are located both north (accessible from Fawell Boulevard) and south (accessible from College Road) of the Glen Ellyn campus. Parking is also available on the west side of Lambert Road, which is usually less congested.

  • Remember to allow at least 10 to 15 minutes to get from your car to your classroom. Don't let parking make you late for class.

  • If you are not familiar with the Glen Ellyn campus, be sure to note where you parked and which door you entered. Each entrance has a building designator and number above the doors.

  • Visiting campus to buy your books before your classes begin will allow you to tour the buildings and find each of your classrooms. This will make your first day simpler.

  • To make parking easier for everyone, car pool if possible.
Consider Public Transportation: The Glen Ellyn campus is served by two Pace bus routes:
  • The C.O.D. Connector (#714) travels north and south between the Wheaton Metra Station, and Edward Hospital and the Naperville Fifth Avenue Metra Station. [More on the Route 714 schedule.]

  • Route #715 serves Addison, Glen Ellyn, Westmont and Darien, as well as a major transfer point for several other routes near the Yorktown Center mall. [More on the Route 715 schedule.]
Pace passes are available for sale in the Student Activities office, located in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 1800, including the Campus Connection pass that gives unlimited rides between August and December for $150.
