Academic Information

The Early Child Education and Care program offers students the knowledge and skills that enables them to provide education and care for infants, toddlers, preschool-aged and school-aged children. Classroom experiences are combined with direct observation and participation in both campus and community Early Childhood programs.

Students at C.O.D. can earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. The A.A.S. Degree Requirements and a Student Planning Worksheet are available to assist you with your degree planning.

In addition, the college offers six certificate programs: Early Childhood Education and Care; Infant, Toddler and 2-Year-Old Child Care; Early Childhood Center Administration; School-Age Child Care; Multicultural Education and Care for the Young Child; and Family Child Care Provider. Certificate Requirements are available online.
