The program's objective is to encourage goal setting and exercise consistency while eliminating the excuses and so is a great way to keep your commitment to exercise while not having to attend a particular class time. Whether you grab a partner or join a team … come and enjoy the many indoor and outdoor trails around the College's campus.

Invest in You with Your Personal Health Manager

This workshop series is a review a new program available for employees called the Personal Health Manager (PHM). This program is part of a wellness series of Blue Cross Blue Shield offerings starting this year. The sessions will include getting you set up to use the PHM program as well as follow you through the usage of the various areas such as setting up an exercise program, talking with a dietitian, and/or having access to a nurse line. This series will also include an overview and usage of a BCBS incentive program entitled "Blue Points". Basically, every time you track a fitness workout, report a meal, use any “Ask A” feature or take advantage of any part of the Four Your Health section, you can earn Blue Points. These points can then be redeemed for various prizes and gift cards. Come check this series out!

Making Wise Choices For a Healthy Life - II

Get on the road to wellness by participating in this wellness workshop series. In four 45-minute sessions (for a total of 4 workshop contact hours), Wellness Coordinator, Magy Rehayem, and Health Science Librarian, Debra Kakuk Smith, will provide disease and condition overview, lifestyle support, professional contacts and a variety of online and print information resources on popular medical conditions. Participant will receive practical advice and information on managing some of the most common diseases and conditions affecting individuals, friends, co‑workers and loved ones. Completion of one out-of-class assignment and attendance at all four sessions will fulfill the requirements of one TLC class. Topics covered are: Session 1-pain management, migraines and chronic pain; Session 2-mental health–including depression and stress; Session 3-metabolism issues such as diabetes, thyroid and insulin resistance; Session 4-“The Age of Menopause.”

This on-site weight management program is for any employee who wants to get a handle on living a healthier lifestyle. We all know that making better food and exercise choices is essential to sustaining weight loss. All too often, we let other priorities get in the way. In this 20-week program, participants will learn about the “Four Pillars” of sustainable health as well as keep steady progress towards their lifestyle goals. You’ll also have access to free e-tools, a variety of healthy tips and recipes, and a supportive group of fellow employees. Come join us!
