This workshop will introduce you to essential Windows XP topics such as the Windows XP desktop and window manipulation, starting and stopping (exiting, closing) application programs, saving and printing your work, managing multiple applications/windows, using menus, toolbars, dialog boxes, Windows help, and managing files, folders, and the Recycle Bin.

In this workshop you will learn to customize the Start menu, the taskbar, and folder views, make files hidden or read-only, and manage the print queue for a printer. You will also become acquainted with tools to manage your computer: System Restore, Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, and Backup.

You will learn the basics of HTML (HyperTextMarkupLanguage). Use of HTML tags needed to create WWW Home Pages will be covered. You will create a Faculty Personal Home Page as a project for this workshop.

PowerPoint 2003 – I

You will learn to create, open, save, and edit a PowerPoint presentation, navigate the PowerPoint screen and its various views, format your presentation, add drawings, WordArt, clip art, tables, charts, and organization charts, apply Design templates, add timing to your presentation, and print your presentation in various forms.

You will learn to create/modify an existing PowerPoint template, build a custom slide master, use advanced clip art and drawing techniques, add sound clips, movie clips, animation effects, and scanned images to a presentation, import an Excel worksheet into a presentation, add tables, chars, and organization charts to your presentation, and use the Pack and Go Wizard.
