Any of these workshops completed since January of 2003 will satisfy this requirement.
These sessions are designed to provide information and tools to strengthen the skills of current supervisors and to better prepare new COD supervisors to procedures, methods and college expectations to be successful in their roles.
Current supervisors need to be complete these sessions by December 2006.
New Supervisors are required to complete the 12 modules with in the first two years of employment.
Certificates of Attendance will be sent to you for each session you attend. Once all 12 modules have been completed you will receive a diploma from the TLC. Completion is defined as attending an entire session.
Sessions are offered at various times to try to accommodate your schedule. If you need the information from a session prior to its scheduled date, you can schedule an individual session by calling Karen Troller (2649) or Eddy Lal (2668) in the TLC. Sessions may also be scheduled for departments or groups.
*Note: If you attended Conflict Resolution - I more than 2 year ago, you may take Conflict Resolution II to satisfy the required training requirement.
**The requirement for the Preventing
Sexual Harassment session can be fulfilled by taking the on-line tutorial

is a checklist of required supervisory training you
may print for you files.
Do you have an immediate need for some supervisory assistance in a situation where constructive discussion and problem-solving techniques may assist you with a particular circumstance? Are you about to have a feedback session with an employee and you aren’t familiar with the procedure?
Your issues could range from motivating your staff in a way that will subsequently promote your supervisory skills in your manager’s eyes to perhaps a practice session on how to resolve a legitimate disciplinary issue in a congenial environment with an experienced confidential resource. You may also be looking for fresh ideas with an experienced employee’s annual feedback. Here are a few areas of consideration:
