Credit Information for TLC Credit Courses and WorkshopsCredit Courses


All of our credit courses are approved COD courses that generate College of DuPage credit. Tuition is waived for all Teaching and Learning Center classes. It is not necessary to process a Tuition Scholarship form. Courses are offered for credit to all college employees.

Tuition Information
Full-Time Faculty, Classified Staff and Administrators – IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PROCESS A TUITION SCHOLARSHIP FORM – all TLC offerings are tuition waived. Simply register through the TLC.

Part-time Faculty and Classified Staff – IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PROCESS A TUITION SCHOLARSHIP FORM- All you need to do is submit the registration to the Teaching and Learning Center - all TLC offerings are tuition waived.

Full-time Faculty
Full-time faculty can use Teaching and Learning Center credit classes:

1. For Range Changes
2. To Satisfy Contract Requirements

REMEMBER to have your appropriate “Prior Approval Form” approved and processed by your Administrator or Supervisor prior to taking the class. This form must be on file with Human Resources to ensure you receive credit due. Forward a copy of your Education 1800 Grade Report from the Records website, Records to Human Resources to process your credit.

Full-time Classified Staff
Full-time Classified Staff can use Teaching and Learning Center credit classes toward their PDP’s or their Wellness Incentive Plan.


Workshops

CERTIFICATES of COMPLETION

Full-Time Employees
Certificates will be issued no later than four weeks after a workshop has met and the outside project has been completed. Full-Time employees expecting to convert workshop hours into semester hours of credit must retain their certificates. When you have accumulated certificates of completion for 15 hours of TLC workshops, submit the original certificates to the TLC. The TLC will then register you for Education 1800 to receive 1 semester hour of credit.

A note about the Wellness Day Incentive: To qualify, workshops taken for this incentive must generate 3 or more workshop hours.

Part-time Faculty
Stipend payments of $20.00 per workshop are awarded for attending TLC workshops of 3 hours or more. Stipend amounts are based on number of terms taught as follows:

1-2 terms – maximum of 5 workshops ($100 maximum per term)
3 + terms – maximum of 3 workshops ($60 maximum per term)
The stipend is paid once a term on the last paycheck of the term.

Part-time Classified Staff
Certificates of Attendance are issued for attending a TLC workshop—completion of project is encouraged but not required to receive a certificate.

NOTE: THE COMPLETED PROJECT MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE FACILITATOR FOR ALL CLASSROOM/WORKSHOPS OR SELF-STUDY WORKSHOPS EITHER BY THE DATE SPECIFIED BY THE FACILITATOR OR WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF THE FINAL CLASSROOM WORKSHOP SESSION.
