Bloodborne Pathogen Annual Refresher Training

This workshop will provide employees with guidelines and procedures designed to prevent or minimize the occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials as defined in OSHA 29CFR 1910.1030.  BBP training is required for employees that have the potential for contact with blood or body fluids during their daily activities when they are initially hired and annually thereafter.  Hepatitis B vaccination information, Universal Precautions and COD procedures for decontamination of equipment and disposal of biohazardous materials will be reviewed.

OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and the Illinois Right to Know (RTK) Law are based on the concept that employees have a need to know the possible health risks that may result from working with hazardous materials and the precautions necessary to avoid unnecessary exposure to themselves and/or their co-workers.
All employees identified by their job description as having the potential for being exposed to hazardous materials through daily activities must complete this required training. This workshop has been designed to provide employees with the information necessary to protect themselves, co-workers, and the environment.

Red Cross Adult CPR/AED Certification

This workshop provides training in American Red Cross Adult CPR and Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) skills. Participants use mannequins to practice to learn how to deal with breathing, choking and cardiac emergencies including Adult CPR and use of a defibrillator for victims over the age of 8 years. An adult CPR/AED card will be issued upon successful completion of skills and written test.

This course is focused on providing Managers and Supervisors with the information they need in order to ensure that COD, state, and federal safety guidelines and protocols are being followed within their department. We will review what to do in case of an emergency, general regulatory compliance (OSHA/DOL, EPA and DOT), and the responsibilities or Managers/Supervisors.

What do I do if I suspect someone is angry, possibly violent? Who do I call? How do I detect it? This session will cover the possible causes and types of workplace violence, some warning signs of potentially violent individuals, how to prevent violence and how to report it will be covered.The video program, Creating a Drug Free Workplace: Back on Track will provide valuable information on how to create a drug-free workplace, symptoms of substance abuse, how to intervene and adverse effects of drug abuse. It will also help you to comply with the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act and COD policy. If you ever wanted to learn about Drug Free Workplace, this is the workshop for you.
