Bloodborne Pathogen Annual Refresher Training

Welcome to the College of DuPage training workshop for Bloodborne Pathogens.  Please confirm with your supervisor or department that this workshop is required for your job description.  This training is required by OSHA to be an annual refresher for any employee who could potentially be exposed to bodily fluids during their daily activities.  We will be reviewing Universal Precautions and COD procedures for cleaning and disposal of biohazardous materials.

•Know how to implement basic decontamination procedures

•Basic Control, Containment, Decontamination, Injuries, First Aid and Rescue Operations
•Procedures - 2 Hours
•Initiating Emergency Response, DOT Guide Book - 2 Hours

This is the second of three part training. (Part I & II plus CPR fulfill the required 8 hours for First Responders Operational Level)

What do I do if I suspect someone is angry, possibly violent? Who do I call? How do I detect it? This session will cover the possible causes and types of workplace violence, some warning signs of potentially violent individuals, how to prevent violence and how to report it will be covered.The video program, Creating a Drug Free Workplace: Back on Track will provide valuable information on how to create a drug-free workplace, symptoms of substance abuse, how to intervene and adverse effects of drug abuse. It will also help you to comply with the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act and COD policy. If you ever wanted to learn about Drug Free Workplace, this is the workshop for you.
