This tip applies to Windows XP.

Have you noticed after turning on your system that occasionally you get a message that you have unused icons on your desktop? By default, the Desktop Cleanup wizard pops up every 60 days to ‘cleanup’ your desktop. Here’s how to get rid of that message:

1. Right-click an empty part of the desktop and click Properties.
2. Click the Desktop tab.
3. Click the Customize Desktop button.
4. Uncheck the Desktop Cleanup Wizard.
