Law Enforcement Response to Critical Incidents

Program Information:

This one-day, 8-hour program consists of the examination of law enforcement response to a diverse selection of critical incidents, i.e. active shooters, flash mobs, extremist groups, protestors etc. In addition general awareness and analysis will be completed on critical incidents in the workplace and in schools.

 This curriculum also educates officers on the behavior of mobs/crowds, individual agitators, anarchists, and peace activists.  Students will also learn various control and management techniques of planned and unplanned events involving potentially violent individuals.

During this program students will participate in a training scenario involving the planning and management of a potentially violent crowd.  Your instructor Capt. Kukowski, West Allis P.D.  had direct experience in the operational planning and response to the recent Neo-Nazi Rally that was held in West Allis, WI on Sept. 3, 2011.

Additional Topics include:

  • Active Shooter vs. Barricaded Subject Response

  • Traditional Deployment vs. Rapid Deployment

  • Critical Incidence Response; Safety, Critical Tasks and Preservation of Evidence

  • School/Workplace Violence Incidents; Characteristics and Behavioral Traits

**Cancellations for this class must be received by SLEA 35 days prior to the start of the program in order to avoid being billed!**
