The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy recently developed this Public Information Officer training program for Public Safety Personnel. Through attending this 2-day program, Fire Chiefs, Command Officers or individuals assigned to PIO duties, will gain practical experience in preparing for and delivery of departmental information at media events and press interviews. Through the use of the College of DuPage TV studio, street corner/crime scene/major incident location interviews, students will gain valuable experience interacting with Chicagoland TV and print journalists.
