This 4-day, 32 hour course has been in existence since the 1970’s.
The San Jose Field Training method includes training strategies and
documentation to include the Daily Observation Reports and other reports
such as the Bi-Weekly Report, End of Phase Report, Task List and Call/Activity
Log along with regular FTEP staff meetings held bi-weekly and at the
end of each Phase, at which time Field Training personnel discuss the
needs of individual trainees.
The model, proven to be reliable, has been implemented in Law Enforcement,
Communications and Corrections organizations at the national, state,
county and municipal levels.
