Law Enforcement Careers Affect Family Life

An entertaining
and insightful 4 hour presentation on the unique aspects of the police
personality/culture and the impact upon an officer’s significant
others. Students will be able to utilize lessons learned throughout
the remainder of their careers in policing. This program is ideal for
new officers, veterans and their families.
Objectives
of the class:
- What
makes the dynamics of the police family different?
- Understanding
the unique cultural differences among the police.
- Understanding
the uniqueness of the police personality.
- What
can families do to successfully navigate a police officer’s
career.
*Law enforcement students attending this program are encouraged to bring
their spouse and/or significant other at no cost. Please note that prior
registration is required.
Instructor
Information:
Your SLEA
instructor is a 22 year veteran in law enforcement who has served as
a Sergeant, Detective Sergeant and Commander. He currently holds the
rank of Deputy Chief and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and
the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute
for Police @ Boston University. He is also a sitting two term President
of the Northern Illinois Critical Incident

for this class must be received by SLEA 35 days prior to the start of
the program in order to avoid being billed!**
