Emergency Management Agency Law Enforcement Support Training

Hours: 4 hours weekly for 9sessions
Tuition: $95

Program Information:

Emergency Management Agency/Emergency Service & Disaster Agencies (EMA’s ESDA) serve as a vital support to law enforcement agencies in their communities. In this day and age of increased demands on law enforcement agencies and shrinking resources, EMA’s/ESDA departments have proven to be a professional auxiliary reserve for law enforcement agencies. This has allowed for law enforcement agencies to better allocate their limited resources. The EMA Volunteer Training program will be delivered as a 24 hour program structured as (3) hour sessions each Wednesday for (8) consecutive weeks. The programs will begin January 25, 2012 and run through March 21, 2012. As a result of this training EMA volunteers will be provided with the necessary foundation to be effective in their respective roles while emphasizing the vital purpose they play in assisting their local law enforcement agency in contributing to community public safety.

Topics include:

  • Search and Rescue

  • Traffic Control

  • Self Defense

  • Verbal Control Tactics

  • Fingerprinting

  • Patrol Observations/Report Writing

  • Assisting Operations/Fire Service

  • Operation of Emergency Vehicles

**Cancellations for this class must be received by SLEA 35 days prior to the start of the program in order to avoid being billed!**
