News media reports
reflect an increase in cases of cyber bullying at an alarming rate
throughout the U.S. In many instances law enforcement has been tasked
with investigating these offenses/complaints while school districts are
being urged to adopt reporting and disciplinary procedures to address
these concerns.
Local law
enforcement needs the skills and training to adequately document and
investigate these types of cases, and to be able to educate students,
parents and teachers on prevention information when called upon.
This 8-hour, hands-on course utilizing SLEA’s mobile cyber lab will
consist of the attendee learning:

Bullying”, and what are some laws that can be applied.

Where evidence
can be obtained in a high tech crime investigation.

How to examine
and preserve email headers

The use of
screen capturing software to preserve evidence.

Common tactics
used in Cyber Bullying.

yourself and others from falling victim to a Cyber Bully.

share when speaking to students, teachers, parents and the
community.
