On December 12, 2013 the Homeland Security Training Institute (HSTI)
and Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) at College of DuPage will
be presenting a 4 hour program in Workplace Violence and Active Shooters.
Program participants will gain information that will allow them to develop
a plan to safely deal with potential situations of violence. In addition
program participants will gain knowledge about:
• Site safety surveys that can reveal possible weaknesses of your
• Practices that can improve safety and security of staff, customers
• Learning the 3 P’s of Ultra Violence, Plan, Prepare, and
learn to Prevent violence in workplace.
Violence is an unfortunate fact of life! We must be ready when it occurs.
This training will ensure you have the knowledge necessary for success

Instructor: Tom Hausner, Walworth County, WI Sheriff’s
Tom Hausner is former Special Weapons and Tactics Commander (SWAT) for
a 40 member law enforcement multi-jurisdictional team, with 25 years
of SWAT experience as operator and team leader. He has served for over
30 years as a law enforcement officer, is a former US Marine, graduate
of FBINA. Tom is also an instructor for the Suburban Law Enforcement
Academy in a variety of disciplines to include law enforcement tactical
