Soverign Citizen Training for Law Enforcement

Hours: 8
Tuition: $49.00

The Sovereign-Citizen awareness training assists law enforcement in the identification of Sovereign-Citizen Extremists and their fraudulent financial schemes. The Sovereign Citizen movement is a loose grouping of American litigants, commentators, and financial scheme promoters. Self-described Sovereign Citizens take the position that they are answerable only to common law
and are not subject to any statutes or proceedings at the federal, state, or municipal levels, or that they do not recognize U.S. currency and that they are "free of any legal constraints". The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) classifies "sovereign citizens"
among domestic terror threats as anti-government extremists.

The training is comprised of three parts:

Sovereign Citizen Ideologies (specific to the Chicago-land area)

Officer Safety (car stops)

Encountering a Sovereign (eviction/serving subpoenas/liens against property and officers).

• During the training, we discuss past violent Sovereign-Citizen incidents, to include the Kane shooting, which took place in West Memphis, AK in May of 2010, and other recent violent sovereign encounters.

• In addition to our block of classroom instruction, we have added two practical exercises derived from traffic-stop dash cam incidents and completed past Sovereign-Citizen Extremist Investigations.

Instructor: Dan Simmons, Special Agent, FBI
Agent Simmons has been assigned to Domestic Terrorism matters, to include Militia, Animal Rights/Environmental Extremists. The past four years Agent Simmons has investigated Sovereign-Citizen Extremists. These investigations conducted involve mortgage fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and financial institution fraud.
