Street Interview Skills for Patrol Officers
is the truth;what is a lie? Whether they realize it or not, patrol officers
conduct interviews as part of their everyday patrol function. Pro-active
officers attempt to solicit information during encounters that is generally
not in the best interest of the subject being detained or questioned.
Many times a successful street interview can be the key to making and
arrest, acontraband seizure, or identifying criminal behavior. Interview-skilled
patrol officers can often assist an investigation divisions with information
they obtain at the street level.
