Program Information:

This one day (8) hour program conducted by Attorney Lisa Callaway of Clark Baird Smith LLP, will provide an overview of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act. Program participants will review cases involving unfair labor practices while participating in practical exercises to emphasis training points.  Students will also gain knowledge through the following topical areas that will we covered:  

• Analysis/insights on interest arbitration developments

• Hot topics at the bargaining table

• What constitutes a “supervisor”

• Duty to bargain

• What is and is not a mandatory subject in police negotiations

• Impasse resolution under the Act, including the mediation process

• Interest arbitration

• How public safety represented units are formed

Lisa Callaway is an attorney with Clark Baird Smith LLP a law firm that has nearly two hundred years of experience representing public and private sector employers on some of the toughest and most challenging labor and employment law issues.
