Crisis Management: The Three C's

Program Information:


During any crisis three of the most important response challenges are Communica-tion, Coordination, and Collaboration. Learn from experts in federal law enforce-ment, the media, and private sector emergency response personnel on how the need to work together to manage a crisis is critical. Course will focus on effective emergency response with law enforcement and the private sector working closely together and the important role that the media plays in effective communication and transmitting both the law enforcement and corporate roles to the American Public.

• Learn how to effectively communicate, collaborate and coordinate during a crisis.

• Gain an understanding of the roles of law enforcement, the private sector, and the media and their objectives when responding to a crisis situation.

• Work through a terrorist threat scenario and gain an understanding of the important collabora-tion needed between each of these three entities.

• Understand the need for the media to present information to the public during a crisis and how they utilize current technology to meet their objectives.

Course instructors:
Phil Rogers: Current NBC 5 News Reporter. Rogers is a five-time winner of Best Reporter honors from Associated Press and United Press International, as well as Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative reporting.
