Description of Organization:
Consistent with District 204's philosophy, Prairie Children Preschool serves all children. We are a district run early childhood center which serves children with special needs as well as typically developing peers from the community, who pay tuition to attend the program. Total enrollment is approximately 700 children and 28 classrooms; children attend half-day sessions. Our program offers a full continuum of services for children with special needs; inclusive and self-contained settings.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Students have the opportunity to assist the classroom teachers in classrooms. They have the option of being part of an inclusive classroom, self-contained classroom or both settings for those who would like to experience more than one special education setting.
Organization Requirements:
Finger printing from police department is required. Also, students sign a confidentiality letter at the building.
