Description of Service Learner Role:
- Uniquely Me Program - Girl Scouts of USA, in conjunction with Dove, has recently developed a self esteem program that helps girls feel better about themselves by helping them develop the skills necessary to face life’s challenges. We will be launching this program in several area school districts. The “Uniquely Me” program includes exercises about recognizing one’s strengths and best attributes, handling peer pressure, healthy eating habits, hygiene, general wellness, exercise and identifying core values and personal interests. The program helps girls to develop a sense of individualism, leadership and self-confidence. The programs run after school, usually starting at about 3 pm. We have locations throughout DuPage County and parts of Cook County. Click here for specific dates and locations.
- Troop Leader or Co/Assistant Leader – guide girls through the Girl Scout program based on the use of the program goals and basic Girl Scout philosophy.
- Program Sales help – manage and coordinate program sales for a specific area or troop.
- Data Entry – input/update Girl Scout registration information in the GSUSA membership system. This will take place at the Girl Scout Office (Monday – Friday between 9:30 AM & 4:30 PM).
- Leaders for county-wide resource centers – establish Girl Scouting in resource centers and work with girls to develop a Girl Scout program that fits their wants and needs within the philosophy and framework of the Girl Scout program.
