Saturday 9 AM - Noon, some Sundays and Fridays.

Description of Organization:
The mission of the Forest Preserve District is "...to acquire...and hold lands...for the purpose of protecting and preserving flora, fauna and scenic beauties...for the purpose of the education, pleasure and recreation of the public."

Description of Service Learner Role:
Plant seeds, remove exotic weeds, and cut brush.

Organization Requirements:
Students need to fill out a waiver and go to the Forest Preserve's headquarters on Naperville Road to fill out their contract paper work and go through a 10 minute review of everything they need to know. Some work is strenuous. Dress in layers and bring work gloves. No shorts or open shoes, even in warm months. Workday duration dependent on elements. Bring water. Orientation and safety guidelines provided on first visit.
