Description of Organization:
The park distrcit provides a variety of year-round recreational, environmental and educational programs. They have facilities and park areas to meet the needs and interest of residents in the community.

Description of Service Learner Role:

  1. Work in our Natural Areas in land management: collect prairie seed, pull weeds, clear brush and help maintain trails.
  2. Staff the nature center, greet and direct visitors to exhibits and trails or work with special events.
  3. Help at the Museum and organize collections, work with the inventory and research of local history or assist with special events and outdoor work.
  4. The Active Adult Center needs people to assist with activities like Bingo or set up and serve food at Koffee Klub and monthly parties.
  5. Work with children at Kidzone, a preschool daycare center at the Fitness Center, supervising special event activities and teaching crafts/games.
  6. Assist with supervising or coaching various sports in our Open Gym program.

Organization Requirements:
A waiver is required for all participation.

Number of Placements Available:
Dependent on activity or activities available at the time.
