Description of Organization:
Almost Home Kids located in Naperville, IL, is a “home away from home,” providing loving, short-term medical respite care and transitional care for children with complex needs. Respite allows parents a short break from the 24/7 demands of parenting these special children. Transitional Care successfully transitions children from hospital Intensive Care Units to home and works with the family to put community supports in place to address each child’s unique needs.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Plan & implement child life activities for children who are medically fragile or assist with current activities (i.e. arts & crafts, board games, reading books, playstation, computer games, provide companionship). Assist with computer data entry, receptionist duties and other administrative tasks.
Organization Requirements:
Love of children, patience, kindness, flexibility.
