Description of Organization:
CareNet's mission is to serve Jesus Christ by working to prevent unplanned pregnancies, and by providing emotional support, spiritual counsel, and practical help to anyone dealing with the effects of unplanned pregnancy.
Description of Service Learner Role:
They have a Parenting Program which is offered in English and in Spanish. It provides material, resources, and educational support to first time/struggling parents of children zero to two and a half. Service learning students may assist with the parenting meetings or work with children (of parents) at meetings. They may also help with ESL classes, curriculum and resources development, research on various educational topics, sort seasonal clothing and donations, and assist with mailings as needed. If bilingual, assist with translation at Spanish meetings.
Organization Requirements:
Ability to speak/understand Spanish a plus. A background check is required.
