Description of Organization:
Cantigny Park is the 500 acre estate of the late Robert R. McCormick. On the estate is a 27 hole championship golf course, the McCormick Museum (Robert R. McCormick's home), The First Division Museum, and 27 acres of formal gardens; consisting of annual flower displays, tree and shrub displays, perennial flower gardens, water features, prairie, etc.

Description of Service Learner Role:
Fall projects include assisting in the construction of a new garden on our east end of the property named Reflection Point. This project includes tasks such as landscape site preparation and planting of plants. We have also recently planted a Chicagoland Prairie that will surround the new garden, Reflection Point, which will require record keeping of plants and plant progress, weeding out of undesirable plants, seeding of proper plants, etc. Other opportunities may be available based on student's interest and course goals.

Organization Requirements:
That you be enthusiastic about the project chosen. Also, you must meet with Bob Waterman for a brief interview and screening.
