A:  Admission Policies

  1. College of DuPage students who graduate with an Associate of Arts, an Associate of Science or an Associate of Applied Science degree and earn a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher will be reviewed as a pre-qualified applicant for Kaplan College's Bachelor of Science in Management degree.  Consistent with Kaplan College policy for students who have completed an Associate degree, Kaplan College will waive its admissions exam for COD graduates.
  2. Students may apply to Kaplan College's Bachelor of Science in Management program at any time during their studies at COD.  For the benefit of the student, provisional acceptance to Kaplan College may be granted at the discretion of Kaplan College prior to completion of the Associate degree.  Proof of Associate degree completion will be required for final acceptance under the terms of this agreement.
  3. Students will be required to complete an online assessment, an application for admission, and appropriate financial documents in order to gain admission into the Kaplan College degree program.
  4. Upon acceptance and signing of the Kaplan College enrollment agreement, COD transfer students will be subject to all Kaplan College policies, codes of conduct, college procedures and requirements.

B:  Credit Transferability

  1. COD students who have successfully completed a College of DuPage Associate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and otherwise met Kaplan College's admissions requirements shall be awarded junior status at Kaplan College.  The student's 60 semester hours of College of DuPage credit shall transfer as a block, thereby deemed equivalent to 90 quarter hours toward a Kaplan College Bachelor of Science in Management degree.
  2. For COD students with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree, transcripts will be reviewed using the attached 2+2 degree plans to determine fulfillment of prerequisites for those upper-level courses (i.e. 300/400) required as part of the Kaplan College Bachelor of Science in Management degree programs and also for appropriate courses to fulfill Kaplan College's General Education requirements (which will be termed Core Curriculum requirements starting in the July-September 2002 quarter).  Students who have not met the designated Kaplan College prerequisites will need to do so prior to registering for these upper-level classes, and students who have not fulfilled General Education equivalencies will need to do so before being awarded a Bachelor of Science in Management degree.
  3. Students transferring for College of DuPage will be required to complete a minimum of 25% of their Kaplan College Bachelor of Science in Management degree program with Kaplan College.  This means that at least 45 quarter hours of coursework (equal to 30 semester hours) must be completed with Kaplan College.

Quarter to Semester Conversion Guide

"HOW TO READ THIS TRANSFER GUIDE"

With the start of the Fall, 2005 term College of DuPage will switch from a quarter to semester system. All the transfer guides will contain both quarter and semester course articulation information to assist students and faculty advisors during this transition phase. Quarter term classes have three digit course numbers, while semester course have Bolded four digit course numbers:

For example, Engli 101 is a quarter course and Engli 1101 is a semester course. In the transfer guides, articulation tables will show a number of course articulation arrangements, for example:

Speec 100, 1100
In the above case the Speech 100 course or 1100 can be used to meet a requirement.

Engli 102 + 103, 1102
In above case, English 102 plus 103 or English 1102 can be used to meet the requirement.

Math 115, 1115 and 116 and 117, 1116
This case describes two situations: 1.) Math 115 equals 1115 and Math 116 + 117 equals 1116
2.) Math 115 + 116 + 117 equals Math 1115 + 1116

The transfer guides are a valuable tool to assist students and faculty advisors with the transfer process. Given the complex nature of the articulation process should you have any questions regarding course equivalencies contact the College Articulation Office at 630/942.2500.
