Addictions Counseling I

5 credit hours

Focuses on the methods and skills used in treating the chemically dependent person and his or her family. Skill development is accomplished through role play, video and audio tape review, and assigned readings. Lecture topics covered are denial, relapse, legal and ethical issues, and documentation. Prerequisites: Human Services 113, 125 and 126. (4 lecture hours, 2 lab hours)
