Purpose:
To honor an English or Journalism major with an interest in writing as a tool of communication who meets the criteria below
Eligibility
• Must be a major in English, Journalism or related field
• Must excel in writing and/or communications
• Must submit a writing sample with application *
• Must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
• Must live in District 502
• Preference given to a full-time student at COD
• Financial need is not a consideration
*Writing Sample: 2-3 page pre-prepared class essay, or 2-3 page essay on “My Career Goals” or similar topic
Terms:
To be used for tuition, fees and books at COD beginning Fall semester 2008
