Dear SLC Prospective Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in becoming an active part of the Student Leadership Council! This letter will provide you with some guidelines to successfully being placed on the ballot and winning your election.

Please be aware of all deadlines! A timeline for the election is within the pages of this packet, I advise that you observe this time line. Read all rules pertaining to the election and campaigning procedures. Please ensure that all members of your campaigning staff are aware of the rules that pertain to the election and campaigning process, for you will be held responsible for all of their actions. If necessary a copy of the Student Leadership Council Operating Documents (section 5 deals with elections) is available in the SLC office.

All Candidates must attend the next SLC meeting. It is the responsibility of the candidate to inform Chuck Steele if they are not able to attend the meeting. The candidates will have the opportunity to discuss their platform. In return the members of the SLC will be given the opportunity to ask questions.

If necessary you will be notified either by email or phone of any changes that should occur on any part of this election packet. It would be in your best intention to stop by the SLC office briefly to ensure that you are knowledgeable about any information that pertains to the election.

I strongly suggest that you attend SLC workshops, service learning projects, and business meetings. Attendance to these meeting and any activity will help you become more familiar with the procedure of this organization, as well as show your passion and dedication to the organization, its members, and to the student body. Meetings are held regularly every Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in SRC 1550 (SLC Office). Also I would advise you to schedule a meeting with Chuck Steele, the SLC advisor. You can reach him at (630)-942-2642, or email him at: steelec@cod.edu
