Reading 0419 (Appointment) - Basic Reading II

COURSE DESCRIPTION
A basic course that reviews word recognition and word attack skills, structural analysis skills, dictionary skills, and use of context clues. It also emphasizes literal, inferential, and evaluative comprehension skills. The course introduces speed and efficiency of reading and continues to develop vocabulary. This course may require visits to the Reading Assistance Area for additional individualized instruction.

•  Spiral-bound notebook for a Reading Reflection Notebook
Additional materials will be available in the Centers for Independent Learning as assigned.

ORIENTATION/ATTENDANCE
Attendance required at weekly appointment.

EVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE
Students will complete weekly assignments, including readings, exercises, and written reflections on independent reading. Students will also complete weekly tests. Students may be required visit the Reading Assistance Area twice during the semester.
